| This installation is just a bit different than standard, as the footing is in the center of a raised flower bed. So we installed the standard footing with a few additions. The footing in the ground is 33 inch in diameter and 4 feet deep, usually the bolts and base plate would be set in this, but we wanted to elevate the base plate to what will be ground level when landscaping is completed and the flower box area filled, so as part of the footing we used a construction tube to add 18" of additional height to our footing (15" dia). We set 4' long re-bar down through the extension into the 33x48" footing below grade leaving us a 15" x 18" pedestal to mount pole on. (used 9 rods 4' long around the bolt set in the pedestal. ) | ||
